定融法师于1994年在澳洲悉尼出家,正式踏上弘扬佛法的修学与教育之路。1998年自台湾佛学院毕业后,法师继续在台湾佛教研究所继续深造,以深化对佛法教义的理解与实践。
法师拥有澳洲斯威本科技大学的专业辅导硕士学位,以及英国德比大学的心理学荣誉学位。凭借兼具佛法智慧与现代心理学的专业背景,定融法师致力于将佛教教育与心理学原理相结合,以实用而系统的方式协助大众面对生活与心宁上的各种困境。他强调佛法应生活化与实用化,使其不仅成为知识,更成为改善生命的力量。
自2002年以来,定融法师多次往返澳洲、加拿大、台湾、香港、韩国与中国等地,从事佛教教育、课程培训以及持续的参学活动。多年来,他举办的课程与活动广泛而多元,包括佛学讲座、禅修班、佛学课程、减压与觉醒工作坊、佛学师资培训等,深受学员欢迎。
在长期的弘法与教育工作中,法师曾担任多项重要职务,包括监院、当家、佛学教师、佛教心理辅导员、中小学校董、学校与佛教团体宗教顾问、佛教周日学校顾问、监狱辅导员、佛教团体理事、导师及义工培训负责人等。丰富的实务经验与广阔的视野,使他在佛法教育与心宁辅导领域都具有深受肯定的影响力。

Venerable Ding Rong was ordained in Sydney, Australia, in 1994, marking the beginning of his dedicated monastic journey. Motivated by a profound commitment to deepening his understanding of the Dhamma, he completed his studies at a Buddhist College in Taiwan in 1998 and subsequently pursued additional years of postgraduate Buddhist Studies at the Taiwan Buddhist Research Institute.
Venerable Ding Rong holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Counselling from the Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, alongside an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. His work is characterized by a distinctive integration of Buddha‑Dhamma and contemporary psychological principles. Through this combined framework, he guides individuals in understanding and addressing life challenges, with a strong emphasis on applying the Dhamma in a practical and sustainable manner in daily living.
Since 2002, Venerable Ding Rong has travelled extensively across Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and China to offer religious education, professional training and continued learning programs. He has facilitated a broad spectrum of Dhamma‑based initiatives, including mindfulness and Dhamma seminars, structured Dhamma courses, meditation classes, Dhamma teacher‑training programs, as well as numerous workshops focusing on meditation, stress management, awareness practices and personal awakening.
Over the course of his career, he has served in a wide range of significant leadership, advisory and community‑based roles. These include Deputy Abbot of a Buddhist monastery, Dhamma teacher, Buddhist counsellor, board director of primary and secondary schools, religious advisor to educational institutions and Buddhist organisations, advisor for Dhamma Sunday Schools, prison counsellor, committee member, mentor and trainer of volunteers. His extensive contributions reflect his longstanding dedication to Dhamma education, personal development and community service.
